Two great sites for help and practice are
http://www.thinkingblocks.com/ and www.thesingaporemaths.com/index.html.
Both have guided overviews and offer ways to improve solving math
situations using the Model Drawing strategy. Try them out and share your
experience and your questions.
Parents are letting me know that these two sites are very helpful. Please give them a try if you are looking for help at home with Model Drawing.
ReplyDeleteAt first glance, I liked the Thinking Block site except for one piece: adjusting the blocks. I teach the students not to worry about precisely drawing the blocks. Adds an unnecessary piece to the process when working with paper and pencil.
